Bob Lewis Taster
Prior to the Bob Lewis meeting, Momentum is running a FREE taster session for adults and children aged 6+.
If you know anyone who would be interested in joining the fun, send them our way!
It will be running on August 30th, from 9:15–10:30am at Kingsmeadow.

MTC athletes shine at age group nationals
The championship season for MTC athletes just keeps on rolling – this month it was the EA age group championships. Ryan Ofili had a stellar weekend, winning gold in the 200m with a 21.20 clocking. On the first day, he also came away with fifth place, but just 0.04 away from winning gold. Giles Hoogewerf competed in three events across the weekend, achieving a new PB in the discus and throwing well in the shot and javelin. Aurelia made the semi finals of the 100 and 80mH, highlighting her development after coming through from Aspire to Greatness. Congrats also to Emma, Joe and Izzy, who all raced well.
MTC win SAL match
At the third SAL of the season, MTC won its second competition of the senior season by 85 points! This leaves us in a very strong position going into the final SAL of the year, as we only need to finish in the top four to be promoted to the next division. A highlight was MTC gaining 26 points in the pole vault — if you would like to give it a go before the next comp, let us know.
MTC around the grounds
Seven MTC athletes headed to Stratford to compete in the open competition there. Sophie-Shalom Ajuka came very close to her PB in the 400mH, running 66.56. The 100m athletes ran well, but wind speeds of up to +5.0 meant there were few legal runs! Pat Logan ran a SB of 12.75, Grindan clocked 10.59w, and Vincent ran an all-conditions PB of 11.72w. Dan and George had some of the few wind-legal races of the day, running 12.74 and 12.46 respectively. The BFTTA meeting was equally windy, but there were still some great results. Ryan ran a legal 10.90, adding to his successes this month at the EA Age Group championships. Well done to everyone who competed!

Richard's note
We're so excited about how this season has been going. This month we can celebrate two National Champions in the 200m, with Grindan winning the English Schools 200m at U16 level and Ryan winning the England Athletics Champs at U18 level. The number of national titles and medals of all descriptions has been truly astounding for a club that is only 18 months old. Congratulations to both these talented athletes and all those who took part in competitions this month. In addition to the above, five of our athletes got medals in relays at the English Schools, several made finals at the above Champs and the league teams continued to flourish, with the SAL team winning the 3rd match of the season and (barring disaster) pretty much securing promotion to the next level. In the hottest summer ever, MTC have truly been on fire!
