Momentum Track Club have provisionally won the Southern Athletics League division, clinching the title with a dominant performance at the final match of the season at Tooting Bec on 8 August. The win at Tooting, secured by over 80 points, means MTC finish the league campaign with 31 points from a possible 32, having won 3/4 matches to take the divisional title. The Southern Athletics League runs across a series of matches through the outdoor season, with clubs accumulating points at each fixture. A full 32 points would require winning every match across the season; 31 from 32 reflects near-total consistency rather than a single standout result. It is the kind of points tally that reflects a squad that performed across the full width of its membership, sprints, middle distance, relays, field events, at every fixture.

The division title also means promotion! MTC move up for the 2027 outdoor season, which will bring a stronger standard of opposition across all four matches and a higher level of competition in both track and field. Promotion from an SAL division is the direct consequence of sustained team performance, and MTC have earned it across the full campaign! The season included a home match at the Weir Archer Athletics and Fitness Centre in Kingston in June, with individual athletes competing in up to seven events each and double string wins in the mixed 4x400m relay. The third match at Sutton on 19 July was won by 85 points, with Rebecca Keddie winning three individual events including an 800m league record, and Sam Ige and Lily Cowen both completing sprint doubles. The final match at Tooting Bec closed the season with another 80-plus point win. The Tooting Bec Athletics Track in south London is a well-established SAL venue, operated by Wandsworth Borough Council, and familiar to clubs across the division.
