Momentum Track Club has announced its 2026 YDL UAG cash prize winners, the first half of a season-long incentive scheme that rewards athletes for points earned across UK Youth Development League and Southern Athletics League fixtures throughout the year.

The scheme works on a simple points basis. Athletes earn points at every match they compete in over the course of the season, with those points accumulating toward two separate prize pools: one for the four highest overall points scorers across the whole squad, and one for the top scorer within each individual event group. Athletes who do not finish inside the top four overall or top of their event group are not shut out either, since every point earned also acts as an entry into a prize draw, giving every competing athlete some chance of a cash prize regardless of where they finish in the standings.

For 2026, the UAG prize pool runs to £200 for the top overall points scorer, dropping through £150 for second, £100 for third and £75 for fourth, with £50 going to the winner of the prize draw and £25 each to the top scorer in the remaining event groups. The Southern Athletics League runs a parallel and larger prize structure, with places paying out from £450 for the top scorer down through ten separate cash positions, and those winners will be announced separately in the coming weeks.

Lily Cowen topped the UAG standings as the season's leading points scorer, earning £200 for the achievement. Cowen has had a strong year in the U20 sprints for Momentum Track Club, and topping the club's points table across a full season of league fixtures reflects the kind of consistent scoring that comes from regular competition rather than a single standout performance. Lily R followed in second place, taking home £150, with Bertie third for £100 and Izzy fourth for £75, rounding out the top four overall scorers for the year.

The event group prizes went to Ethan and Louis, who each earned £25 for topping the points table within their respective event groups. Louis, who was also part of the U18 boys' gold medal-winning 4x100m team at the Surrey Relays earlier in the season, adds the event group prize to what has already been a productive year on the track. Basit, another member of that same U18 relay squad, picked up the £50 prize draw award on his 18th birthday, converting points earned across the season into a cash prize through the raffle element of the scheme.

Between the top scorers, the event group winners and the prize draw, the 2026 UAG cash prizes have touched seven different athletes across the club's younger age groups, a spread that reflects the design of the scheme itself: rewarding consistent high performers at the top of the table while still giving every athlete who turns out and scores points across the season a chance of winning something.
