What a weekend for Momentum Sports athletes at the Schools County Championships!
Athletes across our group headed out to compete in their respective county championships, with places at the English Schools Athletics Championships (ESAA) up for grabs — and they certainly made their mark. It was brilliant to see so many athletes out in force, not just in Surrey but also further afield in Middlesex and Sussex. Competing at county level is a real achievement in itself — qualifying for the schools competition requires athletes to reach the required standard, so everyone who stepped on the track or in the field should be incredibly proud.
Across the three counties, Momentum Sports athletes came home with an incredible haul of 14 medals — 1 bronze, 5 silver and 8 gold 🎉
In Surrey, the results were outstanding, with gold medals for Aurelia (80mH, 12.42s), Giles (Javelin, 49.93m), Tom (800m, 2:03.28) and Yohan (100m, 11.40s). Silver medals went to Alex (3k, 9:42.5), Chloe (300m, 41.46s), Emma (300m, 41.04s) and Sam (Shot Put, 13.28m). Also competing strongly were Elise (Javelin, 20.88m), Heather (400mH, 75.27s), Maya (800m, 2:18.41) and Tim (400m, 53.35s).

Over in Middlesex, more medals came flying in — gold for Grindan (200m, 21.67s), Daisy (200m, 25.73s) and Tia (Long Jump, 5.52m), silver for Emma (80mH, 12.49s) and bronze for Yasmin (80mH, 12.57s). Daisy also competed in the Long Jump (4.57m). And in Sussex, Sam added another gold to the tally with a strong 15.1s in the 110mH 🥇
Congratulations to everyone who has now qualified for English Schools — representing your county at that level is a fantastic achievement and we will all be behind you. And to everyone else who competed, just getting to the start line at a county championships is something to be proud of.
