A busy weekend across three competitions for Momentum Sports athletes on 18th and 19th April.
Surrey County Championships Part 1 — Saturday 18th April, Kingston

Part 1 of the Surrey County Championships took place at the Weir Archer Athletics and Fitness Centre, with this fixture focusing on the hurdles events across age groups. The standout result of the day was Tia Garrard's victory in the U18 Women's 100m Hurdles, winning the county title in a PB time of 14.69. Sam Bishop placed second in the U20 Men's 110m Hurdles. Sam is currently ranked 16th in the UK at U20 level in the 110H with a personal best of 15.29, and he won the Surrey and Sussex Indoor Championships 60m hurdles in 2025 and the Sussex Schools Championships 100m hurdles in 2024, the county silver here continues a consistent thread of hurdles results at this level. Yasmin Ielo placed fourth in the U16 Girls 80m Hurdles. Her 80H PB of 13.23 is new this season, she had been competing over the 75H and 70H in previous years and this is her first outdoor season at U16 level in the longer event. Still in her early development in the hurdles, placing fourth at county level is very good. Darcey Fisher ran a personal best of 13.68 in the U14 Girls 75m Hurdles.
Winchester — Saturday 18th April

On the same Saturday, Sophie Osborn, Christina Kirkby and George Storey competed at Winchester. Sophie, competing for Blackheath and Bromley Harriers, ran the 800m in 2:13.58 and Christina ran 2:18.80 in the 800m. George ran the 100m in 12.66 and the 300m in 41.05.
YDL Upper Age Group — Sunday 19th April, Kingston

Sunday saw Momentum Track Club make its debut in the Youth Development League Upper Age Group, competing for the first time in the league for U18 and U20 athletes. The highlight was Lily Cowen, who won both the U20 Women's 100m and 200m.
A good weekend of results across all three competitions. Part 2 of the Surrey County Championships takes place on 9th/10th May — entries still available via Roster Athletics before 26th April.
